Why is pigmentation removal (solar lentigo/age spots) so difficult?

When the skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays for long periods, melanocytes are activated to protect the skin. Excessive melanin production leads to various pigmentation disorders. Unlike other conditions, pigmentation such as solar lentigo extends deeply from the basal layer of the epidermis into the papillary dermis. Because of this, even if conventional lasers remove the surface pigmentation, the cells tend to proliferate again, making recurrence of pigmentation highly likely. As pigmentation worsens, melanocytes spread irregularly into the papillary dermis, creating uneven shapes and contours. This makes pigmentation disorders more challenging to treat effectively with standard methods.

How often are treatments needed?

While it may vary depending on the patient’s condition, in most cases satisfactory results can be achieved after just 1-2 sessions.

Do I really need to wear Duoderm for 3 weeks after treatment?

Unlike conventional lasers, the Reepot Laser causes pigmented spots to adhere to the Duoderm, which then naturally falls off. Exact post-treatment care will be explained after your consultation, so please contact us for detailed information.

Does the treatment hurt?

When the device handpiece touches the skin, you may feel a cooling sensation due to its cooling function. Since the procedure causes minimal pain, anesthesia is generally not required. However, for sensitive patients, a topical anesthetic cream may be applied before treatment.

It is a patented technology that uses a skin cooling system to prevent vascular damage, thereby minimizing redness and hyperpigmentation. By delivering high-energy laser precisely in a short time, it enables effective treatment.
